Equipment sourcing and on-site installation are different responsibilities. Prepare a factory request that explains who supplies, connects, tests and maintains each part of your irrigation package.

Two work packages to define

Factory equipment package

List sprinkler heads, risers, laterals, valves and the fittings the supplier must quote. Request a bill of materials with dimensions, connection type and material for each line. Specify system flow rate in m³/h or gpm and pressure at the operating point rather than a pump name alone.

Ask which filtration and fertigation items are included. Confirm spare nozzles, seals and manuals as separate lines, and flag substitute materials before commercial comparison.

Site and commissioning package

Describe trenching, anchors, electrical supply, control wiring, pump connection and access for unloading. Name the party responsible for installation and the acceptance procedure. Our independent sourcing role does not establish a local installation crew or engineering approval.

Seasonal deadlines should include the buyer's receiving, assembly and testing time. A factory production estimate is not the same as a confirmed date at the field.

Questions before releasing the RFQ

State water source and quality, design flow, working pressure, zone size and elevation. Request the measurement conditions and identify missing data. A supplier should not treat an unmeasured water source as a validated design input.

Keep equipment, packing, transport, duties, local labor and commissioning separate. Compare quotes with the same currency, quantity, destination and delivery scope. A premium preference may prioritize documentation and support; a budget-friendly preference may accept simpler controls, but compatibility checks still apply.

Unresolved request

“A sprinkler set for our farm” leaves nozzle size, working pressure, coverage and installation exclusions unanswered. Two factories can quote different packages and both appear to meet that description.

Written comparison basis

Identify the crop block and water measurements, attach a field sketch after contact, list equipment quantities and state US delivery terms. Ask for a deviations list so an alternative is reviewed separately instead of silently replacing the specification.
